UI/UX Designer
City of London
Permanent, Full-time - Onsite
Who we are
We are an energy trading company generating liquidity across global commodities markets. We combine deep trading expertise with proprietary technology and the power of data science to be the best-in-class. Our understanding of volatile, data-intensive markets is a key part of our edge.
At Dare, you will be joining a team of ambitious individuals who challenge themselves and each other. We have a culture of empowering exceptional people to become the best version of themselves.
The Role
As a UI/UX Designer within Dare’s Software Development team, you will take on a broad, product-level remit across multiple platforms, including internal tools, trading interfaces, and customer-facing applications. Your work will sit at the centre of how the firm interacts with data – shaping how information is surfaced, interpreted and acted upon in fast-moving environments.
The role places strong emphasis on behaviour-driven design. You will spend time understanding how users actually behave, not just how systems are intended to work. You will understand how layout, flow, visual hierarchy and feedback loops influence user behaviour and decision-making. The platforms you work on generate and process vast amounts of data, requiring users to make rapid, high-precision decisions. Your responsibility is not simply to make these systems usable, but to turn complexity into clarity – designing intuitive ways for users to interpret and act on complex information under pressure.
Rather than owning a single surface or static product, you will move across a broad and evolving landscape, adapting your approach to different contexts while maintaining a coherent design language. At the same time, you will support fast iteration through a scalable, maintainable design system that enables change without constraining creativity. You will help establish design practices, define product vision, and collaborate closely with stakeholders to deliver a consistent, cohesive experience across all products.
Design at Dare means working closely with engineers, product leads, and traders throughout the lifecycle of a feature – exploring options, testing assumptions, refining interactions and pushing designs through to production. The expectation is ownership: seeing problems through, iterating based on real feedback, and continuously raising the bar across the platform.
As part of your role, you will:
· Design end-to-end user experiences across multiple products, from internal tools to customer-facing trading and analytics interfaces.
· Translate complex product, trading, and technical requirements into clear, intuitive user flows and interfaces.
· Apply behavioural design principles to influence user decision-making, engagement, and efficiency.
· Partner closely with engineers to ensure designs are technically feasible and well-executed.
· Collaborate with product managers, traders, and other stakeholders to balance usability, performance, and business goals.
· Own and evolve the design system, ensuring consistency while allowing flexibility for different products and use cases.
· Conduct UX research, usability testing, and iterative design experiments to validate assumptions and improve outcomes.
· Continuously refine layouts, interaction patterns, and visual hierarchy to reduce cognitive load and improve clarity.
· Contribute to product strategy by identifying UX opportunities and risks early in the development process.
· Produce interactive, production-ready designs that engineers can implement directly, while thinking strategically about user behaviour, engagement, and product-wide consistency.
· Develop wireframes and interactive prototypes to communicate design concepts and test usability.
· Translate complex requirements into clear wireframes, bridging UX research and design.
· Produce wireframes across multiple products and platforms, ensuring consistent user flows and interaction patterns.
What You’ll Bring
· Proven experience designing highly interactive, behaviour-driven products, ideally in gaming, fintech or trading platforms.
· Experience in environments where speed, accuracy, and confidence in decision-making are critical
· Experience with data-heavy or real-time systems.
· Strong understanding of design psychology, including how layout, flow, hierarchy, and feedback loops influence user behaviour.
· Comfortable working across multiple products rather than a single, narrow domain.

· Trading or domain specialist background
· Hands-on experience owning or contributing to design systems at scale.
· Solid UX research skills, including user interviews, usability testing, and iterative validation.

· High-fidelity prototypes using tools such as Sketch, Figma or similar.
· A good understanding of front-end development.
