What you’ll be doing
Reporting to the Head of Crude Desk, you will be responsible for conducting research and analysis on potential market developments, to inform trading strategies and decisions taken by the Crude Oil Desk. Further responsibilities include:
- Work closely with the Crude desk, using their guidance to conduct targeted research and analysis that can support value generation for Dare.
- Use both standard and creative techniques to source new information for your role.
- Analyse information from multiple sources to identify key insights for the desk.
- Prepare succinct summaries with actionable recommendations for traders.
You’ll have
- Previous experience in a Senior/Crude Oil Market Analyst role.
- Specialist market knowledge – a deep understanding of how crude oil markets operate and their market participants (e.g. brokers, trading counterparties, etc.).
- Good knowledge of North Sea/Asian/US crude grades.
- Deep understanding of global refinery economics, including criteria used to compare crude input costs and specifically how marginal switching between grades is assessed.
- Good knowledge of global crude arbitrage economics and crude purchasing programs.
- Experience looking at trading strategies/formulating trading strategies for a trading desk.
- University degree in a related subject.
